Hi Community,
I have a weird issue between the speakers in my house. 1 Hub Max and 2 Minis. I have no problem with broadcasts from the Max to either Mini. However, when my wife tries, the Max says "OK, broadcasting to <Mini name>", but the message does not ever repeat on the Mini.
The Max recognizes her voice and says, "Hi <Wife's Name>" when she calls, "Hey Google". It does not do that for me. I can't find anywhere that there are different settings for different users, but something like that seems to be the issue.
Thanks in advance!

Hey MyLuckyDay,
Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. Please remove and re-add your wife's account on the Google Home app. This will refresh the connection of her account to your speakers. Please follow the steps on this link on how to remove and re-invite an account.
Keep us posted.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi MyLuckyDay,
Thanks for reaching out.
To narrow it down, is it only happening when your wife is broadcasting or does it also happen when she’s playing music or giving commands to your speakers? Broadcasting will work even without your wife’s voice match, as long as your speakers/display are on the same Wi-Fi network and are signed in using the same Google account.
Let her broadcast from one of your Google Home Mini to your Google Nest Hub Max to see if you’ll get the same result. Rebooting your devices and router to refresh the connection might help too.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Hey MyLuckyDay,
I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Dan

Dan,
Sorry for the delay and thank you for the advice. To answer your questions:
- It does not broadcast from the Max to the Minis for her. It works for me and the kids.
- The Max does start Pandora, look up weather, and other commands that it does on its own without the help of the Minis.
- She CAN broadcast from the Minis to the Max successfully.
- The devices are all on the same network. Google Wifi 3-dot mesh.
- I have soft rebooted all network devices and the speakers through the Home app with no change in results. I have not unplugged and/or hard rebooted anything yet.
Let me know if you want me to try anything else!

Hello there,
Bumping in to check if re-adding your wife's account helps. If not, resetting your Nest Hub Max might help too.
Best,
Alex

Hi Alex,
We have been out of town and have not been able to test removing and re-adding her to the home. I'd like to keep the thread open for anyone else that has this problem in the future. Thank you.

Hello MyLuckyDay,
It's me again. I don't want to be a nudge but I'd like to check if you still need help with your Google Nest devices?
Thanks,
Alex

This was the winning solution! I still don't know why it worked one day and not the next, but re-adding her to the home solved the problem. Thank you!
