Spotify stops playing on my Google Nest

Mads_Frost

Hi,

For the last ~4 months I have had the issue that when playing Spotify on my Google Nest, it randomly stops playing. Nothing is interfering with it, it just stops. Nothing else is using the Spotify account, and I have tried al sorts of tests to try and figure out what is happening. I have tried factory resetting the Google Nest, but it does not help either. Thus I am at a dead end here, could you please advice on how to fix this?

Thanks,

- Mads

Hello Mads_Frost,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues playing music on your Google Nest Audio. A few questions: how far is your Nest Audio from your router? What is the make and model of your router? Does it happen to other music services like YouTube Music?

To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other will be used to set up your Nest Audio).

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi both,

Thanks a lot for your answers. It had taken some significant debugging, but I think I have cornered the issue. I have tried with different spotify accounts, adjusted wireless signal, different network settings, etc., and alas it gave no solution.

However, when bypassing my home's network and running it solely on my Smartphones' wireless, it works without a problem. Thus, it must be my home's router that is causing the issue. I use a Zyxel VMG8825-T50 wit ha firmware version called V5.50(ABOM.8.2)C0 provided by my internet provider. I don't expect you to have any ideas to this, hence I will get in touch with the internet provider to try and fix the problem. Maybe they have a new firmware or something that could remedy the issue.

Thanks,
- Mads
