Spotify with mute on.

It doesn't matter if I say or turn on the spotify app it will answer me loud and turn on the music but with mute on.I have to stand up each time and press on the center of the speaker, then everything goes back to normal and it's ok for a while. I only use spotify, in the app the volume is set correctly. When I change the volume I see on the speaker LEDs that it changes but the sound is still muted. How to solve this problem?

It is mega annoying because I have speakers far from where I sit.

Hi  ,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing with your Google Home devices and phone. When turning on the Spotify app, it will answer loudly but turn on the music with mute on". But no need to worry; help is here.

It seems you're unable to play music on your Google Home devices as you could do it before. Let's see some basic troubleshooting steps:

Potential Solutions:

  • Be More Specific: Try providing more specific requests:
  • "Ok Google, play rock music."
  • "Ok Google, play my favorite playlist."
  • "Ok Google, play music from Spotify."
  • Check Default Music Service: Ensure Spotify is set as your default music service in the Google Home app.
  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap on your home or group.
  • Tap "Media & Audio."
  • Under "Default music service," select "Spotify."
  • Device and App Updates: Ensure your phone, Google Home devices, and Spotify Music app are running the latest software versions. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements.
  • Restart Devices: Restart your Google Home devices and your phone to refresh the connection.
  • Google Assistant Settings: Check if there are any specific settings related to music playback in the Google Assistant settings. You might need to adjust preferences or permissions.
  • Clear Cache and Data: As a last resort, try clearing the cache and data for the Google Home app. This might resolve software-related issues.

You can also check the following guide to Listen to music on Google Nest speakers and displays and Link your music services and set your default service.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
