Having to post this again due to the same question being closed due to inactivity (rolls eyes).
I'll reword it to see if I'm understood this time.
If I say "hey google", and it takes a while to notice, I might say "hey google" again. But then I find it noticed the first one late, and then tries to answer the question "hey google" with something silly like "hey indeed". And then I have to start again.

When I say "Hey Google" the Nest Hub immediately displays its tabs. If I say "Hey Google" again, it displays "Hey Google" at the top but doesn't do anything; if I say nothing more, nothing happens and the screen goes back to the clock. If I say "Hey Google" several times with pauses it displays each one, and then after a few seconds, it finally says "That's me, how can I help?"

Typical. I just tried it 10 times and every one worked. So I can't tell if it's better or worse if I say something afterwards. Not sure why it would be any different though.
It's the latest firmware, already checked that for another problem a few days ago.

Hi SunnyRio,
I understand. I'll keep the thread open for a few more days and let's monitor the status of your Nest device. By the way, I really appreciate the info you provided and the patience.
Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Dan

Still working ok, although I got a weird response when I said "Hey Google, just testing". It said "Here are some results", but then nothing.

Hey SunnyRio,
We appreciate your time updating the thread. To confirm, what happens when you use those keywords before? Does it show something on screen? To help us get a better picture of what's happening, do you mind sharing a video?
I'll wait to your response.
Cheers,
Muddi

Not sure what you're asking by "what happens when you use those keywords before?"
It doesn't have a screen.

Hi SunnyRio,
My apologies for that. I thought you were using a Nest display. Moving forward, could you send a video showing the issue so we can further check what's going on with your device.
Cheers,
Muddi

Nothing to show. It doesn't have a screen, so all I can tell you is what it says.

Hey SunnyRio,
I understand that you're using a Google Home speaker that doesn't have a screen. Could you take a video using your phone/tablet showing the issue on your device and share it here so we can further check what's going on with your device.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hey SunnyRio,
Yes! So we can have a better picture of what's happening to your device.

Hi SunnyRio,
Thanks for sharing the video. I was able to replicate the issue on my end. Could you check on Google Assistant app if you will get the same answer.

On my Android 11 phone, I got "hear you go" spoken, and on the screen I got the website of a car repair garage in Rotherham (north England, I live in Scotland) called "Just Testing". The second time I got nothing by voice, but on the screen something along the lines of (I can't say exactly as it disappeared too quickly and it hasn't been logged in the history) "Sorry, I wasn't sure if you were talking to me, I'll disregard that". The third time it thought I said "just test" instead of "just testing", and I got "I found this on the web" by voice, and the screen showed search results for "just test".

Hey SunnyRio,
I’ve duplicated your thread to the main one here since your concerns is related to one device only. This will help us address the issue on your device one at a time.

That link doesn't work, it's asking me to fill in a form?
