Stop the Nest Hub Max from responding

I have the Nest Hub Max and it's being controlled using Google Home and Assistant on my iPhone. After days of searching, the one thing I can't seem to figure out is, how do I stop the Nest Hub Max from verbally responding every time I ask it to perform an action, for example, "Hey Google, set the alarm for 6 am" and then Google responds by saying, "Your alarm is set for 6 am." I want it to stop responding. How do I do this? Thanks!

Anyone? 🙂

Hi,

You should be able to go in the Google home app, go to devices, select the Max hub and then select settings (gear icon) and then notifications and wellbeing. I'd you switch it to do it disturb.

Shel

Thanks for the info, Shel! I followed your suggestion and can see the “Do Not Disturb” on the device pop-up, but unfortunately, it still repeats what I just asked. What seems like a simple setting is driving me crazy, lol!

Hi Christoph1,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I understand that you're attempting to mute the voice response of your Google Nest Hub Max after providing it with instructions. Let's work on this together!

Currently, there is no way to mute the device from responding every time you give it an instruction. This action is designed so that the Google Assistant can provide you with the information you requested and for you to verify if the information it is providing is correct.

But we appreciate your feedback about adding this feature to the Google Assistant. Your feedback is valuable to us as we work to improve your experience with our products and services. Feel free to share your ideas through this feedback form. This will help us implement the features you need.

In the meantime, if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist you further!

Best regards.

Nery.

Hi nerys,

Thanks for that bit of information. After doing some research, I can see that due to its design, there isn't a way to mute the device from responding. I understand why it's there in the first place but I also believe we would benefit by adding this feature to some requests that don't require a response. Once again, for example, "Hey Google? Set alarm for 7 am". I don't need it to respond by telling me, "Alarm set for 7 am". A quiet little chime or beep will do just fine. I just wish we were given that option. Thanks.
