Stopped playing my Radio Station

Celticsfan

I have been listening to my local radio station for over 5 years on my Google Home in my kitchen, just last week it stopped recognizing its call letters. I have been very specific, and it keeps playing the HD2 station. I am beyond frustrated; I have reached out to Audacy customer support also. Any suggestions, please send my way. I have done everything in Google's help and am at a loss.

My station is on Audacy Radio, Boston's Mix 104.1, Google keeps playing WAAF (an HD2 station).

Hi Celticsfan,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the connection of your JBL Link 10 speaker after changing the Wi-Fi network. Don't worry; help is here. In this case, you can try the next steps to solve the situation:

  • What Google Nest Speaker or display do you have? You can use the help article "Google Nest speakers and displays" to find out.
  • What is the command that you use to ask for the radio station?
  • What steps have you taken to solve the situation?

Please let me know how that goes.

Best regards,

Jenny

I'm also having the same problem. There has been a slight change, though. Last week, whenever I said "Play Mix 104.1", it would respond "Playing WAAF from Audacy". Now, it's responding "Playing Mix 104.1 from TuneIn". That's a station in the midwest, not Boston. I've tried "Play Mix 104.1 from Audacy" (which it sees as "Odyssey") and it responds "Playing music from Pandora". My last attempt was "Play Mix 104.1 FM radio from Audacy" (which it sees as "Odyssey") and it responded with the Pandora answer instead. If I ask it to "Play Magic 106.7" instead, it responds "Playing Magic 106.7 from Audacy" correctly.

I'm using a Google Nest Mini (although this is older, as I got it from a free promotion from Google a couple of years ago). Please help!

Hi Ray, Just today it played Mix 104.1 for me when I asked. I had opened a ticket with Audacy last week, and maybe they fixed it? Curious if it works for you today also. And yes, every time I said "Audacy" it would say "Odyssey" back to me also, and no issue with Magic 106.7. It was a stressful week for me trying to get this to work, I'm happy it's back and sure hope its back for you also. I guess it's a comfort station for me. LOL

That is so weird. It was wrong earlier this morning, but I just tried it after I read your note and I got the right station! I was tired of using my Audacy app and casting it to the speaker so we could listen to Karson and Kennedy in the morning. Anyway, it's working for us now. Yay!

This is great news! So happy we both can get our morning K&K fix!! 👍🏼

I have the same issue, you know. This time, it got stuck on the Audacy logo.

Well, it's back! It was working just fine until this morning (Saturday). It was responding to "Play Mix 104.1" correctly all week, but this morning it's giving me WAAF. I tried "Play Mix 104.1 FM", but got Mix 104.1 FM on TuneIn (a Midwest station), so I'm back to listening to Magic 106.7. What changed?

have also emailed Audacy support, hoping that helps.

I just tried it and it isn't working for me. I even tried "Play Mix 104.12 FM from Audacy", but it gave me the TuneIn station instead.

I suspect it's Google's problem, misinterpreting the command.

Found a work around, I went into my settings and set up Bluetooth from my phone and am playing it through the Audacy app. Hope that works for you also, or hope they get this working again soon, Very Frustrating.

Still having the problem this morning. It would be nice if someone from Google would respond. I still think the speaker is mis-interpreting the command. I am using Celticsfan's suggestion and playing it via my phone and casting to the speaker, but this is extremely frustrating.

I have also been having the same problem with my favorite station suddenly not being recognized over the past two weeks. Just found this thread today.  Audacy has supposedly corrected their part, now just waiting on Google to do theirs. I hope this is corrected soon. It's not exactly like you can call 1-800-AUDACY or 1-800-GOOGLE for anything ...

I also reached out to Audacy, did they get back to you? My work around is to Bluetooth my phone to my Google Home and use the Audacy app.
Hope this is resolved soon, very frustrating.

Same here. My drug of choice is 1010 WINS in NYC. Hasn’t been working since early last week. I just get the Audacy logo.

So, mine used to just play the wrong station I requested, but now, it's just the Audacy logo also no matter what station I ask it to play? Not sure if this is a Google issue or Audacy issue, very frustrating none the less.
