All of my devices (speaker, displays and phone) have stopped responding to light commands for my specific voice match.
"turn the lights off" -> "sorry I don't understand"

This also breaks all of our routines
Image of home not making sense for reference

yes that started yesturday when i was cooking i told it to set up a timer and wont do it same screen when i tell to turn of the lights. they need to fix this i call them and not working.

New update. It appears that the word "light" or "lights" is what upsets it. If I use the device name alone it's ok. This breaks "turn the lights off" etc.

same problem plus when i tell it to set up a timer still keeps asking for how long and thats not all. its giving search results when you ask it to do something i think google mess something up. they need to fix this is not acceptable. when you give a comand it gives a search result and that is not what i ask. can even turn off ligths. something with the assistan program is not there and is using google sear voice instead.

It also started for me yesterday. Some times it works but mostly just goes to search
02-16-2022 02:55 PM
Yep, its broken for me to on all of my Google Home's and my Pixel 6:

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I have 2 Google Homes, 4 google minis and two Lenovo clocks. None of these will control lights I keep getting "Sorry, I don't know how to help with that." Will play music. The Google Home App on my iPhone still works.

I have the same issue. If use the name of the light without the "light" part, it works, Must be something on the back end that google pooched

Probably updated something and now we a.ll must suffer

Same thing with mine. When I use the turn on and turn off commands it gives me the I don't understand response. Though I can manually turn on and off lights with the screens.
It just started a couple of hours ago. Pretty useless without the voice commands to turn lights on and off

Routines not working here either.
02-16-2022 07:03 PM
Not working here as well.
02-16-2022 07:41 PM
They probably did an update and broke it. Most of my other voice commands work. Playing videos sportify, setting timers, etc. But the light thing is no good.

Does anyone know if there's a direct connect for support, I went to the support center Canada, and it just goes round and round to the trouble shooting stuff, but there's no direct contact option. You'd think there would be a support center. Even when you get to the chat for support its only for store orders.

k all, I finally manged to find a way to talk to Google, they informed me that this is a known issue that they're working on.
02-16-2022 09:30 PM
I don't know how you break the only things Google is partially good at doing; setting timers, routines, and lights. All 3 are broken so I have 64 lights that won't work. Sad times. Come on Google just role back to your previous production code and get this operational. It's not rocket science.
02-16-2022 10:36 PM
I updated all my routines to use the word "brightness" instead of "lights" when adjusting how bright. To turn off/on I use the checklist option.
A response from a Google rep would go a long way.

Call them for suport. The more people call and make public they will fix it. I have send email to news places so they can look info it. Because am sure they are thousands of unhappy customers.

Within the last thirty minutes the issue seems to be resolved.
02-16-2022 11:53 PM
Yeah, mine seems fine now, when I talked to Google, it sounded like they were getting a ton of complaints about the issue, so good on them for fixing it that fast.

For future reference. How did you call them? It wasn't obvious to me.
