speakers, devices, mismatch on Home

I cannot go adding all firmwares and so on, I don't think this is 'that' sort of issue! The 'label' is also inaccurate as, well, what device is actually having a hissy fit?

Recently changed WiFi at home. We'd set it up years ago and it was all called the wrong thing. Got a new ISP and changed the names of the WiFi on the router. 2 options, the main and the guest (named). Let's say it shows up on the WiFi options as 

Smith

Brown

We had to manually connect all the devices and that was a lot of devices, lights, plugs, speakers both Google and LG. Took an age. I was going great guns on my phone until I got most the way there whereby my phone stopped finding or adding devices. Managed to add them on another phone but not mine yet, it had always worked fine and was up until this nondescript point.

I brought out an old Android 6 tablet, put Home on it and was able to add a speaker group. But, both my phone and the other phone we were using (both less than a year old on Android 11) cannot see that speaker group and if we try to create a speaker group, despite being able to most (not all) of the speakers, it says there are no devices to add to a speaker group!

It's driving us loopy!

Were it just the one phone I would have reset it but, with it being two, it doesn't seem to be the phones. How can the tablet create the speaker group and not the phones?

As an aside, if I start of from the tablet and hit 'Play music' we have zero idea what music it is playing, it's not any of our play lists passed or current and we only have youtube Music linked to it.
