It's back:
Hi,
I've had this issue before but it randomly fixed itself on it's own (maybe a new app update?)
My Google Nest Home Hub says it is connected to my Bluetooth speakers but it still keeps playing out of the Google Home speaker. I even try to change the default audio to another Google Home in my house and it still keeps playing audio out of the same Google Home. I have forced stop on my Home app, unpaired and repaired and still nothing.
Thanks

Same issue here !
Even if my nest hub says it's connected, the audio is not played trough the bluetooth speaker.

I tried this solution.
At first, my bluetooth speaker (Jabra solemate) was correctly paired to my nest hub.
I created a routine with the following steps :
- disconnect bluetooth
- connect bluetooth
- play radio
The routine seems to work a few times. Even it's a crappy solution, it worked even after a power down and power of my bluetooth speaker.
But at one point, it stopped working with no reason... After a quick look, in the google home app, I noticed my bluetooth speaker was unpaired from my google nest hub!
So, connecting and disconnecting a bluetooth speaker within a routine seems to work, but sometime the bluetooth speaker is unpaired with no apparent reason.
If anyone come up with a better solution, I am very interested!
My point is : I don't want to use the google home app to switch from the google nest hub speaker to my bluetooth speaker.

I noticed the most recent time it stopped working was when the power went out for like 10 minutes. When it came back on, along with my nest hub, it wouldn't play out of my Bluetooth speakers. Won't even work with the solution you mention sadly. I may have to switch to a Lenovo smart tab but I don't really want to as I have 3 other nest hubs throughout my house but for the kitchen one, I mostly use to play music throughout the kitchen and living room via bluetooth speakers and this issue keeps popping up 😞

Hi folks,
This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Where are you connecting to via Bluetooth?
It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:
For more information, see this guide.
Best,
Dan

I did all the step mentionned in yout reply. I also checked the linked guide.

Hi r0m1n,
Thanks for doing the provided steps. Could you try to connect your Nest Hub 2nd Gen to another Bluetooth speaker and see if there’s a difference? How about if we also try to connect your phone to your BLuetooth speaker to see if the disconnection happens.
By the way, how often does it disconnect in a day?
Looking forward to your response.
Regards,
Dan

I tested with my pixe buds and it worked fine.
I am only facing the issue with my jabra solemate bluetooth speaker. As mentionned previously, my problem is that the speaker is unpaired and not disconnected when I ask for a bluetooth disconnection. From my point of view, disconnecting is different from unparing, am I wrong ?

I've followed all of those steps (and i did as well when i had the issue before). Have tried with a Fosi bluetooth receiver, UE Boom 2 and JBL Flip 5. Says each one is the default music speaker (when trying each) but still plays out of the 'kitchen display'

Hello folks,
@r0m1n, we understand your problem is isolated to Jabra Solemate Bluetooth speakers. Please note that we have very limited support for third party speakers. Best to report this with Jabra support for better assistance. In the meantime, could you confirm the status of your Nest Hub when using Bluetooth? Which speaker did you test your Pixel Buds to?
@sparkskzoo, let’s factory reset your Nest Hub to revert it back to its default state. You can start fresh by setting it up again. Here’s how:
Keep me posted.
Kind regards,
Dan

What finally fixed it was unplugging (which i did multiple times before) and connecting to another nest (kitchen one) and changing the audio source.

its an issue with either Google's hardware or software.

i'm gonna say software.
