Hi,
I recently bought a Nest Mini secondhand. It seems like the Nest Mini was bought in Spain, as the box is in Spain and the country code said ES when I tried to install the Nest Mini the first time. I live in The Netherlands.
I am however unable to completely set up the Nest Mini and the former owner had this problem as well. When I try to set it up using my Google Pixel 6, the Home app will tell me 'There was a problem setting up Nest Mini' at the end of the set up process. When I try the same via my iPad Air 4, it seems like it succeeded, but it still does not work. The Home app does show the Nest Mini, but on my phone, it says the speaker is offline. On my iPad, it does not say it is offline, but I am unable to change the name of the Nest Mini.
As I said, I tried two different devices to set it up. I also tried to reset the Nest Mini by pulling out the power cable and by factorring resetting it. It does power on and I am able to listen to the radio, but I am unable to control my devices through the Nest Mini.
Could you please help me how I can make this thing work? Thank you in advance.

Update, I am now able to control my lights through the Nest Mini. It still shows as offline on my phone

Another update. I just tried to control my devices again after a couple of hours, but the Nest Mini told me I had to log in via the Google Home App again. After doing that, I received the same error code as the first time (There was a problem setting up Nest Mini), but after that I was able to control my devices. It keeps on saying the Nest Mini is offline on my phone

Hi KITT16,
Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community. I wanted to confirm: is Google Nest Mini already responding to your “OK/Hey Google” commands? Also, are you using a dual-band router? If yes, to which band did you connect your Google Nest Mini?
Regards,
Alex

Hi @Alex_S ,
thanks for your help!
When I try to set the Nest Mini up, it does listen to 'Hey Google' and I am able to control my devieces. After a couple of hours, it somehow doesn't work anymore and it will say 'Log in via the Google Home app'.
I believe I am using a dual-band router. It is connect to a 5 Ghz router.

Hi there,
It’s a pleasure to assist you! Do you have other Google Nest devices aside from your Google Nest Mini? If yes, are they connected to the same band? Have you tried connecting your Google Nest Mini to the 2.4 GHz band?
Open the Google Home app > Favorites > Tap the bell icon at the top right. Do you see any event/history of your Google Nest Mini being removed from your home? Also, kindly provide the Cast firmware version of your Google Nest Mini.
Best,
Alex

Hi @Alex_S ,
Thanks again for your help.
I don't have any other Nest devices, but we do have two Chromecasts that works fine.
I just tried to connect the Nest Mini to the 2.4 GHz band, via my Google Pixel. It now asks me to use a temporary network called 'NestMini2536.ynm,' but it still says there were problems setting up this device. I started with a factory reset to make sure it started fresh. It started to talk to me in Spanish, so I believe it worked. It also doens't work when do a factory reset and try to set it up via my iPad.
The Home app does indeed show that I removed my Nest Mini from my account, although I don't remember doing so, so I think it wasn't me who removed the Nest Mini from my account.
The Cast firmware version is 2.58.384934
