Posting for a friend...
Live close to the border of NSW/QLD (Australia), and have 2x nest minis. One is a Gen2 Aussie version, the other is a Gen1 International. The one that seems to mostly have an issue, is the Aussie one...
They generally do not agree on the time, as NSW do daylight saving, QLd, don't. They hang off the same WiFi, are in the same "Home" etc. Have hard reset both, and they often work OK for half a day, or so, then one drifts off to the other timezone. ie can say "what is the time", one will come back with 8:30, other will come back with 9:30.
Hence, can't be reliably used as an alarm etc, and is just generally VERY annoying.
Anyone else had this and come up with a solution?

There is a thread on this going back to February 2022 (see below). For months, Google Nest simply deflected the issue. Recently, they told customers they had to post on the Google Maps forum to get the time zone error in the Google Maps database corrected.
One customer did so and a week ago was told this:
"I have made some enquiries. i will let you know by posting back here once i know more.
given the nature of the problem as it relates to google maps, i am not expecting responses that would materially address your problems any time soon. so some significant amount of patience is going to be necessary."
Seriously!! No solution yet.

Hi hornetster,
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw MplsCustomer's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks,
Jeff

Why would you think that my reply provided the customer here any help? I merely reported that on a similar case Google was saying they weren't going to fix this any time soon.

Yep, as @MplsCustomer says, at this point Google has not improved the situation.
Until that happens, all of us with this issue, will still HAVE this issue.
Only Google can provide a fix.
Thanks.

Hi hornetster,
That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― could you try this solution provided by one of our community members:
Also, let's try the steps in this guide: Change Google home address, Change your home and work locations
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Have done ALL of the above (generally, more than once), and has been of no help at all.
As I have said, after a full reset, etc, seems to work for a while (hours..) but then reverts to 2 different timezones.
Thanks.

Hi Muddi,
Have filled out the form as best I can (max 1000 characters - had to abbreviate), but also to verify the issue with Google Maps, have calculated the trip from where I currently am (Bundaberg, Qld area), to Coolangatta (which is in QLD, currently AEST), and as you can see from the screenshot, it is giving me an arrival time of AEDT (NSW daylight saving time). Currently it is approx 7:40pm here, and is telling me it will take 5hr 15mins, which should get me there at 12:57 or thereabouts - it is in the same timezone as I am currently in, but it is telling me I will arrive at 01:57AEDT.
Please can this be sorted ASAP?
If you need any other info, please ask!

Why do you close threads, when the issue has not been solved?
I don't understand?

Since we already have your form, our support team will be reaching out to you soon. I suggest continuing the conversation there to avoid confusion.

Unfortunately, this would then mean that anyone else having issues, gets no resolution.
Keep the discussion open, and others are assisted also.

Hello again,
I understand. I'll keep the thread open until someone contacts you and the issue is fixed. We'll also wait for an update on our end.
