Timer not disappearing after I set it then reappearing.

When I set an alarm for my google home mini it says "Got it setting alarm for x:xx/x minutes." After this I ask what the time left is for the timer and it says there is none, after the time goes past it then starts the alarm. Even if I tell it to delete the timer it says that it does not exist, are there any fixes for this?

 Hi rayu058,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you can't cancel the timer. I know this can be frustrating, but don't worry, I'm here to help! Before i proceed, I need to ask some questions to better understand your situation:

  1. Is the Google Home powered on?
  2. Is the Google Home set up on the Wi-Fi network?
  3. Is the Google Home properly linked to a Google Account?
  4. What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I will be awaiting for your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Hello, thank you for replying so fast. Yes it is powered on, it is set up to the WiFi but I do have issues with that occasionally but I just unplug it then plug it back in again and it fixes itself. Yes it is linked to a google account and I have not tried anything yet as I could not find anything regarding my issues. Hopefully this can help narrow down the issue and a solution is found.

Hi rayu056,

Thanks for replying. I need you to try the following commands to check if you're using the correct commands to add and remove timers:

  • Timer: "Hey Google, set a timer for XX minutes." (Example: "Hey Google, set a timer for one minute.")
  • Alarm: "Hey Google, set an alarm for XX." (Example: "Hey Google, set an alarm for 3 P.M.")

To check the status of an alarm or timer:

  • Alarm: "When is my alarm set for?"
  • Timer: "How much time is left?"

To cancel an alarm or timer:

  • Alarm: "Cancel my alarm."
  • Timer: "Cancel timer."

Another troubleshooting step you can try is to ask your device any question and then say "Repeat the question." Let me know if your device repeats and answers the question you asked.

I will be awaiting your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Thank you I realised that I have been saying both interchangeably and that is the cause for my issue, I have 1 more issue that is unrelated to this but is it possible for you to give me some solutions for that here? The issue is that google says there is no internet when there is and it is connected to it. Thanks for helping me with my previous issue.

Hello @rayu056,

Thanks for following up on the case.
I'm happy to hear you were able to figure out the previous issue. I appreciate your effort. On the other hand, I can definitely help you with the "no internet" error on your Google device. To effectively troubleshoot the issue, please provide the following information:

  • What type of device is the one on which you are experiencing the "no internet" issue? (camera, WiFi device, thermostat, etc.)
  • When did the issue start?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
  • Are you using Wi-Fi or Ethernet for your Google device?

While I gather more information, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Power-cycle your Google device and router.
  2. Check the Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection for your Google device.

Please keep me posted; I will be more than happy to assist you.

Regards,
Jorge
