Trouble with snoozing alarms

ghomeminiuser

I have used the Google home as an alarm for several months without issue. Recently, when I ask to Google to snooze an alarm it responds with "that's because you've been working so hard, you deserve to rest." However, the alarm continues to sound. I did not change any settings on the device.  Any suggestions to fix this behavior.

I have a similar problem - when I tell it to snooze it tells me a similar message, then cancels the alarm, but doesn't snooze (nothing goes off afterward). Resetting the device hasn't fixed it, and while this is happening I can't reliably use it for an alarm.

I have this issue as well! when i snooze my alarm it idles for about 10 seconds and then says "sorry there was a glitch, try again shortly." it wont let me snooze at all. very annoying. and the assistant doesnt pick up my voice very well anymore. I have the minis in all rooms of my house but the bedroom one seems to be the culprit most of the time.

Hi WesD123,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Is this a general alarm, media alarm or character alarm?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

You can also reboot your Nest speakers through your Google Home app:

  1. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Select the speaker or display > Settings.
  4. At the top right, tap More > Reboot.

You can also check the status of your timer or alarm by asking the Google Home the following commands:

  • To check the status of an alarm or timer:
    • Alarm: "When is my alarm set for?”
    • Timer: "How much time is left?"
  • To cancel an alarm or timer:
    • Alarm: "Cancel my alarm."
    • Timer: “Cancel timer.”

Tell me how it goes.

Best,

Dan
