Tunein doesn't work as an alarm...

I've tried using several different devices in order to wake up to my radio via TuneIn, and regardless of the device it simply did not/ does not work. 

I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps on numerous occasions, changed the type of Google/ Nest device, all a total waste of time. 

I did read where Google is aware of an issue with TuneIn. However, it wasn't mentioned in the context of using as an alarm. I'm writing to see if anyone else has had that experience? 

As everyone would agree, missing the alarm due to a glitch is probably the worst thing / worst time of the day for this error to occur. Now I'm stuck listening to one of the alarm presets... most drive me crazy. 

 

One more point of interest, my display actually shows the radio station as my alarm setting even though it doesn't work. 

I'll tell you right now, I would be forever grateful for any type of feedback to help me figure out how to make this work on a routine basis!

Hi kq,

 

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with along with your routines? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Is it only happening when the media alarm is triggered?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

Once done, replicate the concern by giving a basic command to play radio from TuneIn without the media alarm. Try using another music service or radio to isolate further.
