Hi
I have 2 google devices:
1) Nest hub - setup in the living room
2) Nest mini/home mini - setup in the bedroom
I also have 2 lights in the Living room and bedroom, all associated and configured to their respective “Rooms” I.e 2 in “living room” and 2 lights in “bedroom”
in the bedroom I am able to turn on ONLY the bedroom lights by saying “turn the lights on”. Nest mini recognises it is in the bedroom and only turns on the bedroom lights - SUCESS!
But…..when I say “turn off the lights” then it turns off the living room lights instead! FAIL! it seems to loose context of which room it is in when I ask it to turn off the lights.
my fix so far has been to ask Google to “turn off bedroom lights “ then it only turns of the bedroom lights.
is there a way to just say “turn off lights” and turn off lights just in the bedroom?

Hey rmalik25,
Thanks for reaching out - we'd love to help.
Currently, the command "Turn off/on lights" only works when you are in the same area where the lights are. For example: You're inside the bedroom - you can turn off the lights without saying the specific bedroom name. If you have one lights in a room, I suggest you assign a unique name then control your lights using their names.
Here's a link that will be helpful to you: Use smart lights with Google Nest or Home devices
