I must be missing something because this seems like a very basic feature that's missing. There seems to be no way to adjust the volume of the Google nest hub from the Home app unless media is playing. Sometimes I just want to adjust the system volume so I can hear the voice assistant better, but I'm not seeing a way to do this. Anyone know how to do this?

Please advise where the volume control is once I've tapped media. Here's what I see (R2D2 is the Hub}
Edit: tapping on the device starts playing music, which has a volume slider, but I want to control the volume without having to play something, as if I'm pushing the physical volume buttons on the device itself. Like to increase the volume when the assistant is speaking too softly.
Edit 2: well I created a group, put my device in it, then deleted the group and now when I tap on the device the volume control is there! Guess it had been stuck in a mode that wasn't showing the volume somehow.

Hi folks,
@RachelGomez123, thanks for the help.
@Chairman_Mao, thanks for posting. You can change the volume of your device when media is playing, when media isn’t playing, or when media is paused. If you change the volume when media isn’t playing or when media is paused, you'll hear an audible confirmation from your device. Here's how:
Hope this helps.
Best,
Dan

Thanks Dan and Jake for that idea, but no it doesn't work. I've settled on keeping the slide show off so the volume control is visible when I tap on the device within Google Home.
