Hi fellow Google’rs!
I saw a few simular topics on this page, but never a clear solution so I will post something myself.
I’m a dad and owner of a few Google Nest speakers, a Google Hub and some Google Chromecasts.
Sometimes, when I’m out of the house, I want to be able to call my daughter through the speakers. When I make the call with the “Call Home” function in Google Home, the call gets to the speakers at home and she is able to answer it. But when I try it the other way around, it doesn’t work!
I already read all the instructions on the support page, tried every single configuration button, checked every app (Google Assistant, Google Home, Google Meet), … but it just doesn’t seem to work. I’m a system engineer for about 13 years now, so I know my way around things like these, but I think there’s a compatibility bug between these Google apps and iOS.
I already read a simular issue, where this person mentioned that after hanging up the call that was being initiated on the Google Nest speakers, he get’s a notification as soon as the call ends that said he missed the call. I have the exact same issue. All notifications are enabled, but as soon as the call ends, I’m also seeing a notification “missed call from xxx”.
the solution for this person was “he used an Android device and it works well with Android, not iPhone”. But that can’t be the solution, right? Anyone who has some advice please?
- all apps are up to date (Google Home, Meet, Assistant)
- all apps have access to everything (contacts, notifications, …)
- Personal Results are enabled
- Speakers are connected
- Google meet is used as video/audio app in Google Home
- as mentioned, it works when the call is initiated through my mobile phone with Google Meet. But not the way around
- iOS = 17.2.1
Thank you in advance everyone! And happy holidays!
