Using Spotify Plan Member account on Google speakers

Hi. I have a Spotify Family Plan with myself as the Plan Manager and three Plan Members. I want to allow a Plan Member to play their account on their own Google speakers but right now it always defaults to my account. Voice recognition has been set up and working so I don't understand why the speaker doesn't play the account linked to that voice. I've read in OLD posts online that this is still was an issue but wondering if a solution has been found. Thanks everyone.

Hi TJ88,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that even when you set up voice recognition on Google speaker devices, they still play from your default Spotify account instead of the accounts of the plan members linked to the different speakers. I'd be happy to explore the option of allowing plan members to play music from their own accounts on their respective Google speakers!

Currently, for all services, Google speakers and displays linked to the same Google account support a single account per streaming service. This means your speakers can recognize the voices of home members, but they will only play music from the Spotify account linked to the primary Google account where the speakers are linked. For reference, you can check out this article: Link your music services and set your default service.

In order to enable plan members to listen to music on their individual Spotify accounts, the current alternative is to link each Google speaker to a different Google account.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
