I am really just starting to tolerate this whole "Google Home" thing with an enabled speaker that I use in my yard.
Now I got a larger "party speaker" that is NOT Google Home aware, but it connects fine via BT on my phone and plays media without an issue as long as I am NOT using Google Home on my phone. Once I open Google Home and ask it to play something using the app, it ignores my connected speaker!
I have been thoroughly annoyed with the difficult "automated" configuration, where it searches for devices and can't find them. I seems the more automated, the less things function. Why cant I just add an audio device that my phone already sees and currently has connected? Have they simply restricted this thing to use of "Google enabled" devices? I am not ready for a complete "Smart Home" simply because of the poor functionality and complexity of simple things like this. I'm starting to think I should just use Spotify and dump the app.
