Vertical black lines on left side of display (nearly full width) on Google Nest Hub

A couple days ago, my Nest Hub display started showing thin vertical black lines across nearly the full width of the display (left side), aside from a sliver on the far right. It’s been sitting there without any physical movement to cause it. Can someone help me out? Sounds like a lot of people have been reporting this issue over the last few years.

Hi @chimerical,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Nest hub's display . Let's work together to figure out the issue you're experiencing. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • What are the troubleshooting steps you've already tried?
  • When did the behavior start?
  • Was the device dropped or knocked over?
  • Is the display still working?
  • Is the display's Assistant working?
  • Provide a picture of the display.

Thank you for letting me know about this issue. Please keep me updated.

Regards,

Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan.

  • I tried restarting the device to see if this was a software issue.
  • This behavior started about a week ago.
  • The device has never been dropped or knocked over. It's been sitting on a desk with no physical interaction.
  • The display is not fully working. See the attached photo.
  • The software services all seem to work as far as I can tell, including Assistant.

Here's a photo of the display, where you can see black vertical lines that cover most of the width of the display. I suspect it's a hardware issue.
