Voice command and Spotify not working

ClaireCrombie

We have started to experience issues with voice commands when requesting a specific song on Spotify. We have premium Spotify and the message we get back says you can only request a song if you have a premium Spotify account.

Hello ClaireCrombie,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We're sorry to hear about this. Could you please verify the exact command that you have tried? Also, what's the exact response that you got after commanding it?

Since you've mentioned that you have a premium Spotify account, I would recommend unlinking your Spotify account from the Home app and link it back. Here's how:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Tap your account.

Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap to close the account window. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown icon , then tap another account or Add another account.

  1. Tap to close the account window
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Under "Services," tap Music.
  4. To choose your default service, tap the music service you'd like to use. Assistant will use this service when you say “Hey Google, play music.”
If your music service isn't listed, make sure you've download the app and signed in.
  5. Under More music services, you can link and unlink other available services. Tap a service to link or unlink it.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess
