Hi,
I'm posting here, because I'm quite desperate...
I've changed my WiFi settings (SSID) at home and reset my Google Home Speaker & Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen Display devices completely and re-added them to Google home app.
I've enabled voice match on both devices for myself and my wife successfully - it can recognise my & my wife's voice when we ask "who am I".
Now, I am trying to enable voice match for my kids on both devices as per this help guidance: https://support.google.com/families/answer/9071584?hl=en
In the past (probably around 2020-2021) I've managed to get this to work without a bigger issue.
Now I'm facing the problem as described by many other people, however I wonder if there was any progress by google to address this:

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Add-voice-match-for-Family-Link-managed...
Generally the guide gives three options, which I've followed:
1: Use the Family Link app and allow voice matching to a device via Content Restrictions.
I go to "Family Link", select a child, go to "Content Restrictions"->"Google Assistant"->"Add (child name) to new devices"->"Setup".
On a "Setup" screen ("Review what (child name) can do", enable all options for music, videos, podcasts, answering calls, answer all questions, etc.
However once I click "Save", I receive "No Wi-Fi connection" error, with options to "Skip" or "Try again".
I'm of course connected to the same Wi-Fi as my "smart" devices (it's just the same network for everything in my home).
"Try again" doesn't help.
If I "Skip" then voice match is not enabled for my kid, SO IT FAILS.
2: Use the Home app on the child's device.
When I open the "Home app" I can see the "smart" devices.
Once I click on one of them, I see volume control, however there is no "Gear" icon to change any settings.
Adding child to "Home" from my "Home app" doesn't work either, as I'm asked to use "Familiy Link".
SO IT FAILS.
3: Use the Home app and tick the box for the device you want to recognise you.
I open "Google Assistant" setting, then go to "Hey Google & Voice Match"->"Other devices".
I see two of my "smart" devices there, however when I try to tick the checkbox next to any of them, I see the same "No Wi-Fi connection" error, exactly as when trying option 1.
SO IT FAILS.
I've tried option 1 on OnePlus 8 (with Android 12) and Realme XT phone, both with stock ROMs.
I've tried other options on Realme XT, Xaomi Mi 5 (custom rom), Google Pixel (custom rom).
Once again, for the record all devices and phones are on the same network and configured correctly - everything works perfectly for the adults.
I 've tried to roll back the Google app and then try again before it updates itself, as suggested by some people. Needless to say this doesn't work, and in fact it's not even possible on a child's device because rolling back the Google app isn't allowed.
I've tried the same with downgraded version of Google app (which I believe is the main problem source), but it always end up with "No Wi-Fi" error.
I've spent almost whole day, trying to troubleshoot the issue, without luck, so I'm a bit desperate...
