Weather display on google nest hub

Drglad
Community Member

My google nest hub started randomly stopping to  display weather. No rhyme or reason to it. Display is set to show weather, location services on, I reset hub, unplug, reset weather display, and it comes back on for maybe 11/24/36 hrs , then is lost again.

@Drglad

This is a defect that was introduced in June 2022 when Firmware Version 1.60.305621 started to get rolled out. Google Nest acknowledges the problem. A month ago, they said: "We apologize for this. Our team is still investigating the issue. I'll make sure to get back to this thread as soon as we have some updates about this." On Aug. 30, Google Nest support staff said: "So far, unfortunately I have nothing new to share....I know the team has been working through this issue and I'll be checking in with them this week to see if there any updates or progress regarding this..."

See this thread:

We have to reboot almost every morning since early July 2022 to restore weather data, which disappears around 3 am almost every night.

We have the same problem as you. But we have found a quick way of getting it back without resetting the device. Just open your Google home app on your phone and wait about 5 to 10 seconds and the weather should appear automatically.

Here the same. This means the teams don't chek well the new firmware.

Hey Danilo1,

We're sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let's check what's going on.

When you ask your Google Nest Hub via voice command, does the weather show on your display? Have you tried the suggested steps above? If the issue persists, give resetting your Nest Hub a try to see if that works.

Thanks,

Alex

As I pointed out above, what's going on has been checked out.  This is a defect that was introduced in June 2022 when Firmware Version 1.60.305621 started to get rolled out. Hi Danilo1,

Thanks for updating us. Glad to know that it's already working good now.

Let's keep on monitoring your device's behavior. Since this has been resolved, we'll consider this as complete and will lock the thread in 24 hours. Feel free to start a new one if you need assistance with your Google Nest speakers and the community would gladly lend a hand.

Cheers,

Princess
