When I request BBC Radio Four my Nest speakers respond "Playing BBC Radio One"!

When I request "OK Google, play Radio Four from the BBC" both of my Mini Nest speakers (2nd Gen)  respond with "Playing BBC Radio One from the BBC".

My Android phone Google app displays that it has heard "BBC Radio Four" but it plays Radio One.

Having my ears assaulted with the "noise" from Radio 1 is horrible!

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I understand that your Nest speakers aren’t giving you the radio station that you need; don’t worry, I’m here to help you with that!

Which model of speaker do you guys have? Do you all have a Nest Mini? The most important step to get your Nest speakers to play the content that you want is to use a voice command that is structured in a way that the speaker can understand easily.

Which voice commands have you used when trying to play BBC Radio 4 besides the one you’ve already mentioned? You can use the command “Hey Google, play BBC Radio 4.”

Have you tried using a command to play other BBC radio stations? Does it also give you a different station?

Let me know what you find out.

Regards,

Angel.

I always use the command, 'Hey Google, play BBC Radio 4', but it plays BBC Radio 1 more times than it does Radio 4. This is very irritating! It clearly suggests that something is amiss.

Yes i have always ued “Hey Google, play BBC Radio 4.”  In the past up until about afour months ago this always worked more recently however it will play radio one. This is now true about four times out of five. I've tried restting it and unplugging it back in so it reconects but the problem persists.

The exact same for me, this is a recent problem across 2 different Google Devices (& 2 different models).

I have two minis and both of them play BBC Radio One when asked to play BBC Radio Four.  I've had them both several years and its only recently started happening.  It doesn't do the same for BBC Radio Two.  There is clearly something awry - any chance you can take a look please Angel?

I get the same problem. Simple solution. I dumped Google and bought Alexa. No more problem. Worth the money to avoid the racket of Radio One.

work around: say “Hey Google play BBC Radio F O U R. That seems to work.

This has only worked sometimes for me, it mostly plays “Radio 4 session by…….”

This BBC Radio 4 error is happening across 2 different Google Speakers, one is a small pebble & the other a much taller version
