Where has all the video news gone?

So this morning I sit down to breakfast & watch the video news on the Max & all the sources I selected in the Home app as having a video feed many years ago, now appear to be audio only. e.g. DW Newsbrief, CNBC Tech Check, Sky News etc. Is Google no longer doing video news which is one of the reasons I converted from speakers to hubs in some of the rooms?

One thing i did notice is that the news sources now no longer indicate wether it is a video source.. It feels like google has switched it off... Or it is a settings.. but who knows, because there is no reply on this question (or the 2 other people i found on this forum with the same question)

Hi folks,

 

@zxdan, @clogwog, this is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? What commands are used and what’s the error message?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

If issue persists, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Review news preferences customization.
  2. Be more specific with the request.
  3. Check if Digital wellbeing is on and restricting the speaker or display.

Pfff... Literally just switched from a nest hub mini to a max like a week ago but can't find any video news sources. Tried everything but nothing works it's so annoying.

Like @clogwog said it seems like google doesn't show if it's a video source or not, it's like they stopped supporting it really weird.

The app doesn't seem differentiate between video and audio only sources anymore.

Hey that's fine, I only created an account here to leave a comment I didn't create thread, or expect to come back here. I'm in Europe, my english is not so good and I don't have more information than the info I already provided🤐

After I posted my last comment it randomly started working for 1 day without me changing anything, but it has gone back to not showing video again.

I do appreciate ya'll helping but personally its not big enough of a problem to fill a form with my personal information or having to come back to the forum repeatedly. As long as I can still hear the news it's okay 😅
