I have two Nest Hubs, two smart speakers and a Chromecast Ultra. On every single one of them, I can't cast anything that is 'restricted' according to YouTube. At first I thought this was a Brand Account issue (since YouTube won't let you verify the age on a brand account) but I've since tested this with my regular google account signed into YouTube and it doesn't work either. This is what happens:
I have gone into my device settings on the Google Home app and turned off anything that might restrict. I've gone into my phone and done the same. I even went into my settings on my google account in a web browser to check.
So what I'm looking for is the following:
I understand that Google says they are committed to safety, but for the love of anything holy: I'm a grown adult trying to watch a video about a court case ON A PLATFORM GOOGLE OWNS. Google has everything about me from my credit information to my physical attributes. I don't know what else I can do to prove that I'm an adult and want to watch a freakin video about a freakin crime. Oh! I'm also a YouTube premium subscriber! Stop infantilizing your users, or at least create a single place on your labyrinthine mess of settings pages where I can confirm my identity, unlock any restricting content and pass along that content to my brand account. Oh, and if you really want to make my day: push these settings from the server side so I don't have to reset everything every dang time an app updates. God this is infuriating.
