YouTube TV is not working on any of my Google Nest Hubs

SLLN

YouTube TV has not been working on any of my hubs for several weeks. This happened once before and then corrected itself. It has started again.

When I say "Hey Google, play xxx (any station) on YouTube TV," I get the response, "I looked for XXX on YouTube TV, but it either isn't available or can't be played right now."

Also, if I select the YouTube TV app directly on the Nest screen, I get "Sorry, I don't know where to play the video. Please give me the exact name of the screen."

I have followed ALL of the troubleshooting steps (including resetting the hubs) given to me and YouTube TV still does not work. I have six Google Nest hubs and it doesn’t work on any of them, so I believe the problem is at your end and has to do with the casting feature and its connection to YouTube TV.

The last time this happened I contacted YouTube TV directly and worked with them, and they said the problem was not with YouTube TV but with Google.

Hello SLLN,

Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear about this. Since you've already tried some steps and found out that this happens on all your Google Nest speakers, let's try these steps first.

  1. Reboot your Google Nest speakers (unplug it from the power source for a few minutes)
  2. Reboot your router (unplug it from the power source for a few minutes)
  3. Plug in the devices, make sure that they are near the router.
  4. Command your Google Nest speakers and let's see if the steps made any changes to its behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Does not make a difference. They work with everything, except YouTube TV. The problem is at your end, not mine.

HI SLLN,

Thanks for trying that, and sorry that you are still experiencing this. Since the steps didn't work on your end, we'd be happy to take a look into this for you. Please fill out this Contact Us form with all the needed information, then let me know once done. Lastly, could you provide us with your device's firmware version? Check out the steps below on how to get it:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Tap your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

Thanks,

Juni

I have submitted the form as you requested.

YouTube TV started working again for a week, then stopped today. I have six Nest Hubs and it doesn't work on any of them.. The cast firmware version is 3.71.387262 for all six hubs.

This has only been a problem since December. It worked perfectly before then.

Okay. I have more information for you. We had a power outage and after it was restored, YouTube TV worked. Then I stopped casting and when I tried it again, I got the same error messages.
I had to reboot the router for a second time and it is now working.
I shouldn't have to reboot my router every time that I want to watch YouTube TV.

The problem seems to be only with that app.
