YouTube content warning on Nest Hub

odorikakeru

I’m trying to play a particular YouTube video on my best hub display. When I cast to it I get a content warning (“The following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences” - which is understandable as it’s a play through of a horror game), even though I have filters disabled. The only option is to “Go back”, there is no option to continue and play the video. Is there any way to change the setting and allow this content through?

I have also tried to play the content directly on the best hub without casting and it will just show the video title card and incorrectly identify the video as being 0 seconds in length.

I’m not objecting to the content warning being displayed, I just want an option to say I understand it’s offensive, yes it’s me who is watching it, and I want to watch it anyway (as it is not illegal and doesn’t violate YouTube’s TOS).

Could it possibly be due to the age you have put in your Google profile? I personally haven't seen any of those warnings pop up when I watch similar stuff on my account.

I haven’t set up an age in Google Home, but as for my Google profile in general it knows my real age. I am signed into YouTube with the same account and have no trouble watching the video on Android, iOS or in a browser (after clicking/tapping past the warning, of course).

It’s only on Nest devices that I have a problem. I guess it’s to prevent “pranks” where you can have it play in other rooms to scare people, but I think it’s a bit too heavy-handed.

If you are interested, and this site allows it, I can share the link so you can test it on your devices.
