Some days the alarm doesn't go off at all. Some days it is as much as 20 minutes late. If I need to get up at 6 AM to go to work, getting up at 6:20 is late. Today, it went off at the proper time. I hit snooze and it only lasted 1 minute instead of 10. I hit cancel and a few minutes later it started up again. I hit cancel again and again a few minutes later it started again. This went on half a dozen times. I unplugged it to see if that cleared out its brain, but when it rebooted the alarm went off again. I told it "OK Google Stop" and it did. But five minutes later it started up again. This is insane. I need it to go off once at the set time and that is all. Does anybody know what the deal is? And why is everything Google does so very half-assed?

Oh that's right. Being a monopoly means you can save some of your ass for later.

Hi @pjcamp,

Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information. I understand that you're encountering some issues when you try to turn off your alarm, and some days the alarm doesn't go off at all. Also, I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. I'm here to help you find a solution together.

To assist you further, please attempt the following questions:

  • Is the Google Nest Hub powered on?
  • Is Google Home set up on the Wi-Fi network?
  • Is the Google Nest Hub properly linked to a Google Account?
  • Which model of Google Nest Hub do you have?
  • Do you receive a response when you ask the Google assistant to do something else?
  • Were there any recent changes to your environment, such as a change in Wi-Fi network or relocation of the device?
  • When did this behavior first begin?

In the meantime, you can check out this article, which includes information about some voice commands for the alarm and other information as well.

Please keep me posted.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.
