google home photo frame

I’ve had my google home for a few years and never had a problem with my photo frame which displays photos from an album i created on google photos. Recently I made another album as I wanted to change the photos and it displays the new photo frame for a bit but then changes back to curated photos which is so frustrating as I don’t want random images as my photo frame. I’ve tried everything like deleting the album and making a new one, unplugging the google home, etc.

I would suggest trying 3 things. One is Re-select Your Album, the other is Clear Cache & Data, and the last is Check Google Photos Settings – Make sure your album isn’t private or restricted in Google Photos.

Hi

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Photo Frame not showing the album you created. I'm happy to assist you right now.

I recommend checking photo frame settings in the Google Home app; please follow the steps below.

  • Verify if Google Photos is enabled.
    • Open the Google Home app.
    • Select the device from Home View.
    • Select the Nest display.
    • • At the top right, tap Settings Photo Frame.
    • Choose the preferred photo source:
      • Google Photos
      • Art gallery
      • Full-screen clock
  • Verify Google Photos app settings
    • Make sure that your mobile device is connected to the same WiFi or linked to the same Google Account as the speaker or display.
    • Open the Google Photos app.
    • At the top right, tap the account's icon.
    • Verify that the account shown is the one linked to the speaker or display.
    • To switch accounts, choose another account or tap Add another account.
    • Tap to close the account window.
    • Tap Photos settings Apps & devices Photo Frames.
    • Tap the Nest display where the album should appear.
    • Verify that the selected albums match those set in the Home app.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Regards,

Gabriela
