google hub max wont complete setup

hi just recently bought a google hub max from a first owner, I tried to complete setup but it kept giving me a message that the device is still under the account of the previous owner and I must contact previous owner, I contacted previous owner who told me he already signed it out from his google home app, but I still get that message to contact previous owner, can anybody help me on what to do please

I would think executing a Factory reset should allow you to set up the speaker from scratch.
