home device not able to play apple music even though linked

Nest Hub Max device not able to play apple music even though linked.

Apple music logo comes up on hub max screen but that's it, no music, no artwork, just the white screen and black apple music logo. Music won't play, it's correctly setup in app. Apple music won't let me play on phone while it's "playing" on nest hub (when it's not).

Have reset, still not working.

Ignore it's web browser based, because it's not but this would not let me post without putting an response when IT is NOT relevant?

Hi on_dre,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: does it only happen when using Apple music? What country are you in? Was it working before? When you did the reset, was it the same steps as what you see in this link?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, kindly check the status of your default music provider. You can try relinking your Apple music. Here’s how:

  1. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap account.
  4. Verify the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the down arrow icon > choose another account or Add another account.
  5. Go back to the home screen.
  6. Tap Add > Music.
  7. To choose a default service, select the preferred music service available. The Assistant uses this choice when the customer uses the voice command “Hey Google, play music.”
  8. Link function:
    • For YouTube, the account is automatically linked when the customer sets up the speaker or display.
    • For Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and others, you must link their account.
      • To connect the account, tap a music service > Link Account > sign in or sign up for the service > follow the in-app steps.
      • To unlink an account, tap Unlink > Unlink account.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Dan

Sorry, I missed your message. I deleted the account and playlists then logged back in and it's back. However, WHAT the hell is up with Google voice recognition. Sometimes it can take 10+ attempts for it to do as I ask. It understands the command perfectly (as it displays on the screen) but then she says she doesn't understand.

How hard is it to understand "Hey Google, play "example playlist" on apple music" ? To say Google is getting dumber is an understatement.

Hello there on_dre,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you but, for confirmation, is the voice match successful or not yet? Were you able to set up your Nest Hub Max after you've done the steps above? What is the exact error message?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Dan
