hello, ive had my nest hub gen one for around seven years, and it has come up with ‘setup - follow the instructions in thr google home app’. when i go into the app it does not let me connect to the nest hub, because the wifi is not the same. I cannot change back to the previous wifi on my device the nest hub is currently connected too because the name has been changed and cannot be changed back, making it unconnectable in the present moment. On the app it will not let me change the wifi it is connected to either and just says to check my wifi connection but my connection works fine.

can someone help me please, i do not want to factory reset it.

Hi @madisonliu!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulty reconnecting your Nest Hub (1st gen) after a Wi-Fi network change, and you're seeing the 'Setup - Follow the instructions in the Google Home app' message. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

If you change your Wi-Fi network's name or password or replace your Wi-Fi router, you need to connect your Nest Hub (1st gen) to the new network. You might also need to factory reset your device and set it up again to reconnect to the network.

To try to connect it to the network, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your device.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  4. Tap ‘Settings,’ then ‘Device information.’
  5. Tap ‘Wi-Fi’ and ‘Forget this network.’
  6. Return to the Google Home app home screen and tap ‘Devices,’ then tap ‘Add,’ and ‘Google Nest or partner device.’
  7. Follow the in-app steps.

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
