I had bad experience with this google nest hub display setting, I tried to connect to 5G but my google nest hub display not seeing any 5G ssid, after I reset the nest hub display I can see the 5G ssid but cannot connect.

It only can connect to 2.4G wifi.

is there anyone having same issue ?, any workaround for this ?

mine is made in vietnam, I live in Indonesia.

btw my google nest mini 2nd gen have no issue.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, so let’s get this resolved. What is the distance between your Nest Hub 2nd gen and your Wi-Fi router during setup? The range is lower in the 5 GHz band (10–15 ft) because higher frequencies cannot penetrate solid objects, such as walls and floors. If this did not fix it, let's rule out the possibility that it has something to do with the network. Set up your Nest Hub using a mobile hotspot. You need two phones for this. Follow the steps below.

  1. Phone 1 open hotspot.
  2. Phone 2 connects to Phone 1 hotspot.
  3. Phone 2 download Google Home app.
  4. Factory data reset your Google Nest Hub.
  5. Setup Nest Hub using Phone 2 and use hotspot as a source of network.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni
