Hi 1masseyrd,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your voice announcement cannot be heard on your Google Nest Hub Max. I'm here to help.

It sounds like your Google Nest Hub Max is only displaying the text of broadcasts from your Google Mini, but not actually speaking them aloud.

Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot this:

  • Check Volume:

    • On the Nest Hub Max: Make sure the volume is turned up on the Nest Hub Max itself.
    • In the Google Home app: Check the volume settings for your Nest Hub Max within the Google Home app.
    • Ask your speakers to turn off Do Not Disturb.
  • Restart Devices:

    • Restart your Google Mini: Unplug it from power, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
    • Restart your Nest Hub Max: Unplug it from power, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Check for Software Updates:

    • Update your Google Home app: Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Home app installed on your phone or tablet.
    • Update your devices: Check for software updates for both your Google Mini and Nest Hub Max within the Google Home app.
  • Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and that the Wi-Fi connection is strong and stable.

  • Re-add Devices:

    • Remove and re-add both devices: In the Google Home app, remove both your Google Mini and Nest Hub Max from your home setup. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to re-add them.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please let me know, and we can explore further troubleshooting options.

Regard,

Kevin
