"Hey Google, transfer to..." behaving oddly!

I have three smart speakers in the house, I think two Home Mini and one Google Home (the app doesn't tell me what they are, and there's nothing on the devices themselves so I can't be certain). I've got Bedroom Speaker, Kitchen Speaker and Living Room Speaker.

If I "Play xxxx" on the bedroom speaker, it starts playing Spotify. I can then "Transfer to Living Room Speaker" no problem. Likewise I can transfer Living Room to Bedroom.

However, as of 2 days ago I can't transfer to Kitchen. If I'm on Bedroom then it says "OK, transferring to Bedroom Speaker" (that is, the speaker that's already playing). Living Room does the same. I _can_ transfer from Kitchen Speaker to the other two.

I've done the usual - unplugged and replugged, removed from house and re-added. No difference.

Hey there, thanks for letting me know on this. 

I appreciate you trying to troubleshoot on your own as well. Have you tried deleting the Household within the app and re-adding it and linking the devices to the new home again?

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help. 

 

I understand that issues with Google Assistant can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help. 

 

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Hey Garrett. Yes, I just gave it another test and the problem is still there. Weird! It was working a couple of weeks ago, at least. This just seems to have started in the last week or so.
