I have exactly the same error as several others around the web:
Re: Google Hub 2 : Trying to add a device with voi... - Google Nest Community
Can't add my kids to Home Assistant : googlehome (reddit.com)
In short, I have invited my wife to be part of Google Home, which she has accepted. But not all devices show up when trying to add voice match to them. When trying to manually add the devices, the "No wifi connection" shows up.
She has working wifi for all other purposes, we tried rebooting the router, the speakers. Even tried uninstalling the updates for the Google app(apparently this worked for many, but not me).
Any ideas?

I solved it!!
The issue was that there were a few devices that were turned off and not considered in use. I had these setup way back, but my wife's Google Home had never seen these. They included a Chromecast that was turned off, a Bluetooth speaker that was offline and an old device not in use anymore.
So her initial setup for Google home/assistant and Voice match actually looked like it worked, with no errors, but after that, when she went back to her Google assistant settings, there was a notification to "complete setup" for these 3 offline devices, which I thought didn't matter since we don't really control them though Google Home/Assistant.
The speaker that we were having issues with from my original post was not included in this notification, but I guess its completion was being blocked by these 3 incomplete devices. When I removed all of those, and clicked "complete setup" on the notification(even thought the 3 devices no longer existed) her Voice match was added to problematic speaker.
What threw me was that the speaker she was having issues with wasn't listed as "not completed", but apparently all other devices must be online/working for Voice match to fully complete setup.

Make sure you have turned on voice match and sharing for the devices she is not seeing on your phone. You have to grant voice match on each device.

Hi, thank you for your reply!
Do you mean that I should go to the missing device from my phone -> settings -> recognition & sharing, and there turn on "Personal results" and "Voice match"?
Both are on from my account. If she tries they are both off and she can't toggle them.

Yes. If that is the case, are the problem devices in the Home, or are they at the bottom listed as connected to you? If connected to you, put them in a room.

Hey Obrad,
Thanks for the update. Could you tell us the make and model of your wife's phone? Is she using a personal or business account? Also, what are the steps that you've done?

My wife's phone is a Samsung Galaxy Fold 4. My phone is a Samsung S21 Ultra. We tried also with a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone and with a Samsung S7+ Tab.
Everything we get the message "no wifi connection" when we try to add a new device from Google home app or add voice match.
All phones and Tab are updated on Android 13 and apps are updated too.

Hey Obrad,
To confirm, is your Harman Kardon Citation One speaker already added or setup on the Google Home app under your account? If yes, you don't need to re-add it on your wife's account. You just have to invite her account to be part of your home structure then you're good to go. Visit this link for more information.
For adding a child account, make sure to follow the steps on this guide.

Yes already added but voice match doesn't work, for her and my kids can't add voice match because they need to add device to voice match before proceeding to learn the voice
3 weeks ago
I'm wondering if this is due to old / offline devices -
if you go to GoogleHome - Settings - Google Assistant - Manage All Assistant Settings -Hey Google and Voice Match - Other devices - do you see a device that is not part of the Home Group? If so, is it unchecked?
No just my Harman kardon and when my wife tries to add a new device to voice match there's the issue with no wifi connection
3 weeks ago
Fair enough.
I think on here someone mentioned that all devices in the Home group have to be online - so when you try add a new device GH tries to access all devices, even the offline ones - which throws the No WiFi error. I guess it's just an unrelated issue!

Hey Obrad,
To confirm, are you using your child's device when doing a voice match? Please go to the Family Link account on your child's device then follow these steps: Tap Controls > Content restrictions > Google Assistant > Teach Assistant [child's name]'s voice again > Retrain.
@WonkyChicken: I appreciate your help here!

Nothing works.
It's a shame. It's supposed to be easy and friendly to add devices and use Home app.

I've tried this also. You can click retrain, but if you click "add to devices" it just flashes

Same issue. If my wife tries to add a device on her account she has "no wifi connection". Nothing works for us

Same issue for me. I've tried on 3 different phones to get invite a child to the family to allow voice matching but keep getting "no wifi".
I've got Googlehome minis, tried uninstalling updates in the Google app but nothing works.

Exactly the same issue here.

I also am having this issue.
I have tried all he "so called fixes" all derives are there and all have Voice Match enable but I cannot add them together from my phone so my Nest Hubs will let me mark reminders as done via the Nest Hub screens as it says it cannot confirm my voice match but does not ask me to speak.
For now, I need to go and grab my phone to do so.
