radioAPP failure

Labra

As from the new update of Google home  today Oct 9th 2025 RadioAPP HAS FAILED again in playing local stations through the speaker. The display shows normal start up of radioapp then it freezes and silence. You can tell Google to stop and that works. Reboot etc does not fix the issue. Note this identical problem occurred earlier this year and was eventually fixed.

Hi Labra,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing while trying to listenlisten to local stations through the RadioApp on your Google Home speaker. I understand how frustrating it can be when things do not work as expected. I appreciate the steps that you tried to resolve the situation. But don't worry; I'm here to help.

Here are some steps that you can try to solve the situation:

  1. Restart the phone or tablet used with the Google Home app.
  2. Re-link the radio service.
  3. Check network stability by running a quick speed test on your network.

If the issue persists, please contact the Radio App support for further assistance.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenny

The same is happening to me. It will play anything I ask except the radio app. It listens then responds with “playing radio app” but doesn’t. I’ve unplugged and rebooted but same again. It’s so frustrating.

Same here - failed to work earlier this year, started working again, then stopped working a couple of weeks ago... Why does Google keep breaking this functionality?

Yep mine failed earlier this year too and then by some miracle the radio app started working again (which is what I originally bought it to do for me !!!). This time it's taking longer for someone to **bleep** well fix it. Mine is still not working as at 20 Nov 2025. Seriously frustrating.

Seems we’re all having the same issue. Have restarted many times to no avail. Am in the process of deleting the Google Home App and starting again. I’ve had my device about 3-4 years…..wondering if the latest update in Oct 2025 is having the same effect on newer models and perhaps the issues arising with radio app are with older models?? Curious.

I am having the same issue (again) I have multiple devices and it doesn't matter which one I use. I have had to resort to linking my phone to the nest hub via Bluetooth and using the radio app on the phone. I can then stream to other speakers. This is not ideal as I have to leave the phone close to the hub.

When is a permanent fix going to be available for this ongoing issue?

I agree. My google nest radio app starting working again 2 days ago and I thought the problem had been fixed. It was short lived or the powers to be are teasing us!! Today (Nov 18, 2025) it ceased to work again. WHY???? It is seriously frustrating when my old radio works and this new technology teases us. Please fix the 6PR Perth radio app.

Gah I thought this issue was fixed after it being broken for a lot of 2024 (tonne of threads out there)... its been good for most of 2025.. now back to the Radio app just flashing on and then nothing.. none of the troubleshooting helps, its nothing to do with the user or individual device.

Basically makes the device useless (bar Spotify), the nest interface hides access to the individual apps or any way to choose things manually.

I found this in a search   Why is RadioApp not working on my Google speaker? - RadioApp

It provides some information on the issue and what google are doing to fix it ... think we just have to wait

Thank you KB. Says 6PR was fixed 3 Nov (incorrect). Yep, we need to wait again.
