stopped recognizing commands after power outage

DougBem

We had several intermittent power outages last night. Now, my Nest hub won't recognize the online radio station we like best (WSRQ on TuneIn). I've performed a full reset to no avail. I'm in Maryland, USA. Help please? Thanks.

Princess.. I tried using Assistant yesterday to play the radio station 106.9 FM in Sarasota, Florida. Just as before, it brought up a Spanish-language station instead of the one I was seeking. But it's alright. I know now how to ask for it by specifying the call letters and adding the AM or FM band as desired. You may close this thread. Thanks again, everyone! ..Doug

Hey DougBem,

Thanks for reaching out and that certainly hasn't been easy for you.

Is it happening to all radio stations? Can you still play music to your Google Nest Hub? Could you try requesting the station using its frequency?

Keep us posted.

Best,

Alex

Thanks for writing back, Alex. We had been asking the Nest Hub to "play WSRQ Radio," which took us via TuneIn to WSRQ-AM/FM, a rock/pop 'oldies'  station in Florida, US. Now, however, the same command brings up "SRQ-FM" via TuneIn, location unknown, playing a Spanish-language Hispanic-based format. We discovered a workaround by asking the Hub to "play WSRQ-AM"; that brings up the station we want out of Florida. I can try asking for it by frequency; I'll write back next week and let you know how that goes. Thanks again. ..Doug

Hey DougBem,

No biggie and thanks for letting us know! It's a good thing a different command plays your preferred station. We'll be waiting for your update.

Cheers,

Alex

Hey DougBem,

Chiming in-- have you had the chance to try the steps?

Alex and Princess! I just tried commanding the Nest Hub to play 106.9 FM in Sarasota, Florida. Again, the Hub started playing "SRQ-FM," the Spanish-language station which I don't want. I tried commanding 1220 AM in Sarasota, Florida, and got a weather station. The only way I can pull in WSRQ is to command the Hub to play WSRQ-AM. If you'd like me to try another workaround, please let me know. Thanks for your time, Doug

Muddi, can you send me or link me to the instructions on using Google Assistant to operate the Nest Hub? I don't know how to do that. Thanks for the responses.  ..Doug

Not yet, Princess. As I told Alex a few days ago, we've been traveling. I will try the suggestions you and Alex passed along as soon as we're back home, and I will write back to let you know the result. I appreciate you both.  ..Doug
