I predict that sometime in the not-so-distant future you will look back with nostalgic wistfulness, longing for the days when mispronouncing an obscure Māori word was the biggest problem you had with your Nest Mini Gen 2. A year ago, I was just like you -- so naive and optimistic that my pair of Minis would soon be entertaining me for hours on end and making my life easier in the process. Hah! My advice is to return that evil hockey puck now and don't look back, unless you are a masochistic techie like me. 😁
