video offline

Had this device a few weeks, suddenly no video, black screen, couldn't even operate display controls. When I gave the command to stream something assistent said "it appears your video is offline". How can the video be offline and audio not? I still had sound! I got the video back on by restarting it, but it is bugging me how that is possible

Thanks Princess, I'll leave it be as it's still going good 🤞

Hi Pakelekia,

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about what's happening right now with your Google Nest display. Can you tell me what Google display are you using? Also, let's go ahead and try to perform a complete reset to your device to see if this would make any changes.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Hi Pakelekia,

Jumping in to check if the steps I provided worked on your end?

Let me know if you have additional questions regarding this so we can start trying other steps that might resolve this.

Best,

Princess

Hi Princess,

Restarting the Nest Hub Max in the Google Home app solved the problem as I mentioned. I just wondered why it happened that the video stopped working and the assistant said it was offline. In any case it has been ok since, so hopefully it was a "one-off".  If it should occur again and I can't get it back on by restarting it in the app I'll try your suggestion to reset. Thanks for your response!

Hi Pakelekia,

Thanks for updating. I'm so glad that it's working good on your end. As mentioned, let's try first some basic steps just in case we encounter it in the future - hopefully not.

Since this has been resolved, I'll go ahead and close this thread now from further discussion. Just in case you need assistance, feel to start a new thread and we'd be glad to assist.

Cheers,

Princess

Launched in 2014, YouTube's offline feature allows Android and iOS users to save YouTube videos to their device for later consumption. These videos can be downloaded via mobile data or Wi-Fi network.
