Using dorm wifi which has two step verification and can't connect to it. wifi prompts with a web browser page to verify residency after inputting password. I dont want to use a hotspot permanently for my nest mini

Sorry to hear about your experience on setting up your Google Nest Mini.
Unfortunately, networks that require you to connect through a captive portal, typical of hotels/schools/dorms/businesses, are not supported by Google Home. Users won't be able to connect to these types of networks because of its restrictions. Also, Google Home/Nest speakers need a stable WiFi connection that can only be available on private networks.
