4K Chromecast with TV now will not connect, has black screen with a strange noise

I had been using this new Chromecast for about 2 weeks. It working fine with apps and my vpn, then all of a sudden it froze. I switched back it on, and now I just get a blank screen with a depleting noise that comes on for a few seconds and then repeats a few seconds later… like a battery draining sound. 

I have reset router and unplugged Chromecast. It will not let me reboot the Chromcast either, when I hold down the little button on the back.

any help out there?

  • When did the behavior start?
  • What is the make and model of the TV?
  • Is the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) plugged correctly into the TV and power source?
  • Is there any LED light on the Chromecast with Google TV (4K)? If yes, what’s the color of the LED light?
  • Is the TV tuned to the same HDMI input where the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) is plugged in?
  • Could you describe how warm or hot the device is?
