The streamer outputs max capable resolution to the display. I use an external scaler and would rather have the scaler do the heavy lifting. The streamer box lacks in its ability and stuttering during 24fps YouTube movies is very distracting. Please add an option to output the video streams native resolution and frame rate with no scaling or frame rate conversion done internally. Not having this option is unacceptable for a $99 device.

Hello,
The Google TV Streamer supports auto framerate as well as Quick Media Switching, however, in order for the feature to work, apps must also support either features.
The only streaming app that supports auto framerate is Netflix while Quick Media Switching is supported by nearly all apps except YouTube.
It's important to clarify that Quick Media Switching must be supported on the TV as well, most TVs with the HDMI 2.1 specification support it.
If you want the YouTube app to match the video's framerate, you will have to switch it manually on the device's video settings.
You can also ask for Quick Media Switching support for the YouTube app at the YouTube Feedback website where you can also report any bugs or issues you find within the app.

Hi @Drewmanfu0,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that you have been experiencing some inconveniences with your Google TV Streamer (4K) because it is playing media at 24fps, which causes a little stuttering. I know this can be distracting while you try to watch videos on the app. Let me share some information with you!
Before we continue, I want to thank @branches78 for jumping in with some information! It is really helpful. Let me take it from here.
As mentioned, our device uses a feature called Match content frame rate, which allows your streaming device to match the frame rate to the source content you are viewing. However, we are always looking for ways to improve our services and products. It is important for us to offer you the best experience with our services; for that reason, we want to hear more about your experience and I would like to share our feedback form with you!
I hope this helps!
Best regards,
Debora

I have all those options turned on. I actually WANT the videos to be output at 24fps. The problem is that they don't get output at 24fps. No matter what options I select the streamer will ALWAYS output the max resolution capable by the display (4k 60fps) unless I go in and GUESS what the native resolution and frame rate is and manually set it to output that. My fire TV cube that I retired had ZERO problem being set to automatic and the correct frame rate and resolution was used. I don't want this device doing ANY scaling or frame rate conversion. Having a workaround for something that should be automatic is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, things are different on the Android for TV operating system, therefore, the only option at the moment is to do what I suggested.

Fire TV cube is an android device at its heart. Vanilla Google device should follow suit.

The Android implementation on Fire TV devices is more like a fork, so they are a bit different, it doesn't work the same as on Android for TV.

Hello, I would like to also have this option that the *resolution* match the content, not just the frame rate.

Glad I am not the only one. I have a Lumagen scaler that handles the heavy load and will do a better job scaling and frame rate conversion than any software scaling Google has implemented.

Agreed - I don't have a scaler but I'd rather have my TV do the scaling instead of the streamer.
