Advertising in Chromecast with Google TV

Just seen a wristwatch advertisement in Chromecast for Google TV. This was a first, seeing advertising.

I paid for this device, so why am I seeing advertising? Is Google now just adding advertising to Google TV?

I'm sick and tired of services crowbarring in advertising. I don't want to see it. It will actively deter me from using this device. Is there any way to prevent it?

For this issue, it seems that this is something related to your ads on your Google account or the one that you set up with your Chromecast. To prevent this, please review the following article to control the ads you see. There are a few options to block them and report them as well.
