I want to enable allow apps from from unknown sources but don't know how do this with my new chromcast with Google TV device.  I've done it successfully with my Invidia shield and Firestick 4k but not this new chromecast device.  Can you tell me how to do this?

You need to enable developer mode. Google enable developer mode on chromecast to allow unknown sources. There is a how to video on YouTube.

Factory firmware didn't allow developer mode enabling (Or didn't work). Just ensure it's updated, then it'll work as usual by tapping several times over the android build version,

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to us. Please try the steps listed below to permit unknown sources and verify apps when connected.:

To permit unknown sources:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Select Permit unknown sources. This setting allows you to download apps from outside the Play Store.

To verify apps when connected:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Under Verify apps, toggle the button to on. This setting prompts a warning before you install any potentially dangerous apps.
  4.

Thanks,

Jennifer
