Ambient Mode doesn't work anymore ?

I had to operate a factory reset on my Chromecast and ever since then I can't use the "Ambient Mode" feature, every time I click on it it shows a screen with "Device Settings" with nothing in it.  I restarted my internet provider, reinstalled the Home app and it still remains the same. Is the feature gone or it is only available for the most recent generations?

What Chromecast model do you have? Are you trying to adjust the Ambient Mode through the Google Home app or on the TV?

My model is the first generation one and I am trying to adjust it using the Google Home App on my phone.

I kept trying to solve the problem by troubleshooting and restarting things, but it persisted, I'm starting to think that the feature is no longer available for First generation Chromecast.I just submitted the form recommended previously, I'll wait a return for you guys.

Ik heb dit zelfde probleem. Na een reset werkt de omgevingsmodus niet meer. Wat is de oplossing hiervoor?

  • When did the inconvenience start? 
  • Did you reboot the device only, or did you reset the device to default settings?

Dear Anna,

 

I have a normal.chromecast (generation 1 model). I dont no why de problem started. The chromecast has been reset to factory settings. The problem started on 4 oktober
