Any way to change wifi scanning frequency?

My Chromecast runs connected to my tethered wifi from my phone. I have to come and go from the area frequently, and every time I come back I have to go into the Chromecast settings to tell it to reconnect to the wifi. If I don't it ends up being a good 10 minutes before it tries to reconnect on it's own. It wouldn't normally be that big of a deal, but I have to do it over and over again all day. I'm sure this is an energy-saving thing carried over from phone-based Android, but it serves no purpose in something that's plugged in all the time. Really there's no reason for it not to scan every 30 seconds when it's not connected. So is there a way to change this interval? I'm familiar with adb/fastboot if that helps. Thanks!

Hey there shauncore,

I'm sorry for the late response, I appreciate your patience! I'd be happy to answer your questions. You mentioned that have your Chromecast with Google TV connected to your Wi-Fi from your phone, and unfortunately, mobile hotspots aren't a recommended configuration, and that may be why the Chromecast is having those connection issues.

As for the scanning frequency, that is not a setting that can be changed. The Chromecast with Google TV was designed to be connected to a stable network then doesn't change often.

I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but I hope this answers your questions. If you had any more questions, please let me know!

Best regards,

Jeran
