Applications in memory and Play Store

Krzycho32

Hello, I have 2 questions:

1. Is it possible to see open applications in memory and close them? Unfortunately, I have to do it through the settings and it is a very long process, in NVIDIA shield I pressed the button twice and I could close applications in the background, I don't see it here.

2. Is it possible to add Google Play Store applications to the home page like the rest of the applications? Previously I had them on the main page on shield and now I don't see that I can add them. I also have to go through the settings or ask the assistant to open the application. Is there a way to do this? Best regards

Hi Krzycho32,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

Thank you for posting here your questions about the Google TV Streamer 4K. You are in the right place to resolve these inquiries. Regarding your questions, here is the answer to them:

  1. Is it possible to see open applications in memory and close them?

  • I confirm that you are closing the apps in the right way. Please keep in mind that the Google TV Streamer 4K can hibernate apps, so you don't need to close them.

  1. Is it possible to add the Google Play Store application to the home page like the rest of the applications?

  • Yes, you can add the Google Play Store application to your homepage like the rest of the applications.
    • Please follow these instructions:
  1. From the Google TV home screen, scroll to the "Apps" tab.
  2. To browse for apps, move up or down to find different categories. When you find a category you're interested in, move to the right to find items.
  3. Select the Google Play app.
  4. To install the app, follow the on-screen instructions.

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Virna

Unfortunately, you wrote Google Play, q I want to add Google Play Store. Play Store is not in applications because it is an application store where you update applications or buy and install them. I need the Google Store application on the home screen, but I can't add it because it is not there. I can only enter it through settings or after saying the command "open Google store", it is annoying because I update applications myself, I would like the Google Store icon to be on the home page, but unfortunately I can't add it. On NVIDIA Shield there is no problem with this

You can try these additional steps:

  1. Press the home button on your remote.
  2. Scroll down to the ''Apps row.''
  3. Select ''See all apps.''
  4. Scroll down and select the app you want to add to your home page.
  5. Press the menu button on your remote.
  6. Select ''Add to the home screen''.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.
