Audio Drops out when casting Audible app to ChromeCast with Google TV 4k, when screen saver starts

When I cast from the audible app installed on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, the audio plays fine until the screen saver (Art Gallery ) Starts. It then pauses 15-20 seconds and sometimes restarts, stopping every few minutes. If you hit a button on the GoogleTV remote to "wake device up" audio is consistent until screen saver begins again.

All Devices are up to date, I have tried clearing cache and reinstalling all applicable apps on the phone. Google TV does not have a native Audible app. I had the exact same issue on a Tivo 4k stick and switched to the Google TV 4k stick to get around it.

I don't see a setting to disable the unit from starting the screen saver.

Hi Ripmc16,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that you're having troubles when the audio drops on your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) using your Audible App. I understand how frustrating this can be. Let's work together for a solution.

Currently, disabling the screensaver isn't available. You can only access and manage the ambient screensaver preferences on your Chromecast with Google TV (4K).

A suggestion might be adjusting your ambient screensaver setting. Please do the following:

Through the Google Home app:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  3. In the top-right corner, tap Settings.
  4. Scroll down, then tap Ambient mode.

Through Google TV:

  1. In the top-right corner, select Settings.
  2. Select System, then Ambient mode, and then Settings.

If the situation persists, please try to soft restart your Chromecast with Google TV (4K).

Here are the steps:

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings, then System, and then Restart.
  2. After the device shuts down, to turn it on again, press the power button.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron

I've restarted and updated the devices. What settings should I adjust for ambient mode? There are not time delay settings. The only thing I can change is what the source for he photos is and what information I would like it to display. None of the settings would seem to have any affect on the issue

Hi Ripmc16,

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

As I mentioned in the previous post, with the settings, you can only manage the ambient of the screensaver preferences.

Another suggestion is to try to restart your Chromecast with Google TV (4K). Here are the steps:

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings, then System, and then Restart.
  2. After the device shuts down, to turn it on again, press the power button.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron

Can you tell me what settings under the ambient mode could I change to help with the issue? I don't see any settings where I can control the time or turn it off.

I have already restarted the unit several times and checked for updates. It is running the latest version.

I have checked the Android audible app im streaming from and I don't see any settings there either.
